The Grand Strand Chapter of the Rolling Thunder hosted its 10th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 25 right here at Diamondback Golf Club at Woodland Valley. The turnout was wonderful and the event had players smiling and talking about the great time on a great golf course all day long. General Manager, Patrick Wilkinson and his staff were happy to host again and were honored to be partners with such wonderful organization.
“The Rolling Thunder guys are amazing” Patrick told us. “The time and effort they put into the event to ensure a nice turnout is incredible. Their dedication to raising funds for various needs of military veterans here in Horry County is tremendous. The love they have for their cause and each other is evident when they are all together enjoying the fellowship and common bond.”
The tournament started with a 9:30 shotgun start and finished with an amazing dinner catered by Outback Steakhouse. At dinner the prizes were awarded for the winning teams as well as closest-to-the-pin contests and a hole in one contest (unfortunately no golfer was able to cash in on that one). A good time was had by all the players and volunteers that helped make this event possible and a success. The total numbers were not available but the monies raised was in the thousands of dollars.
The Grand Strand Chapter of Rolling Thunder is well known in the area for its tireless efforts in making sure that the veterans in our area that need help get help no matter what it takes. That is what makes this group so special and what makes it our pleasure here at Diamondback to host the golf tournament. We are already excited to host the 2018 edition of Tee Off For Veterans!
