In this video, Diamondback General Manager Patrick Wilkinson and his daughter, Rachel, are here to show us how best to conquer the par-4 11th hole. If you want your best shot at birdie, heed the advice they give you here!
Patrick Wilkinson:
Hello, my name is Patrick Wilkinson, and I’m the general manager at Diamondback Golf Course. Today we’re here on hole number 11: a par-four, 388-yard hole that is an extreme dog leg to the left. The challenge with this hole is it’s out of bounds all the way down the left side, and out of bounds down the right. So, you’ve really got to be careful about where you hit your tee shot. The ideal tee shot is taken down the left side, and let it hit the mounds, and sort of roll back down to the middle part of the fairway. My daughter, Rachel Wilkinson, will show you how to do this.
As you can see, Rachel’s hit it to the right, about to the 150-yard marker. From here, she has a great shot into the green that’s guarded to the left with a bunker, but it really won’t come into play if you hit a really good golf shot.
On the green, it’s not very undulating. So, anywhere on the green close to the flag gives you a prime opportunity for a birdie.
