In our final hole spotlight of the year, Diamondback General Manager Patrick Wilkinson and his daughter, Rachel, walk us through the paces of how to play the course’s par-four finishing hole. Enjoy the aerial views, and the advice on how to play it!
Hello. I’m Patrick Wilkinson, General Manager at Diamondback Golf Course. Today, we’re on the finishing hole, Number 18 at Diamondback. It’s a par four, 330 yards long. But don’t let this yardage fool you: you’d better hit the ball straight. Anything down the middle will leave you a short wedge or short iron into the green. Anything right or left, you’re going to be blocked out by the tree. My daughter, Rachel Wilkinson, will come up and show you how to play this hole.
As you can see, Rachel’s left herself in an ideal position, about 140 yards to the green. This green is surrounded by bunkers on the left and the right with a creek that runs in between. It’s not very deep, but you have to be accurate. Anything long, you’re on the mounds. Anything short, oh, well, you’re going to be a little wet. Let’s see how Rachel does.
Thank you for watching the video today. I would love to see you on your next visit to Myrtle Beach, and make sure you come by and see us at Diamondback Golf Course. You could make your tee times online at PlayDiamonbackGolf.com. Give us a call at area code 843-756-3264.
