At Diamondback Golf Club, we’re lucky enough to have some great golf holes and take pride in on our golf course. From high handicappers to college players, Diamondback is playable for everyone. Everyone loves playing great par 3s, and we have four of them here. We had our General Manager, Patrick Wilkinson, pick his two favorites and tell us why.
Patrick’s choice for Number One comes easy. “Number 12 is by far and away my favorite par 3 here,” he says. Why? “It’s easy: It’s our salute to service hole.”
Anytime you play Diamondback and arrive at the first par 3 of the back nine, you’ll see the American flag adorning the pin as a salute our servicemen and servicewomen. This hole also sports a unique look with vertical railroad ties reinforcing the back side of the green – a neat visual effect that’s notably visible to the cars passing by on Highway 9.
Patrick’s second choice is the long par-3 16th. “It’s a long carry over water, and just a challenging hole,” he explains. While 16 offers a stern test to your game, it does give you spots to miss. Anywhere short of the green is okay, and will leave a relatively straightforward up-and-down pursuit of par. “The main spot to avoid is the bunker on the right,” Patrick advises. No argument here, as we know no one wants to have a bunker shot looking back at the water – which, in this case, runs all the way down the left side of this hole.
Take Patrick’s advice to give you your best shot at par (or better!) on each of these great holes. If you want to take on all the other great holes we have, book your tee time here!
