Diamondback Golf Club remains one of the most versatile facilities when it comes to hosting events, ranging from the Mars Hill Invitational featuring college golf teams from throughout the southeast to our Blue Skies tournament and numerous high school competitions. We also host events off the course, including movie nights and, most recently, an outdoor concert featuring Joan Burton.
“We held the outdoor concert and had over 100 people show up!” General Manager Patrick Wilkinson said when recounting a memorable evening, noting the healthy helpings of Lowcountry boil Patrick whipped up for everyone in attendance to enjoy. Joan performed for a receptive and appreciative audience for more than three hours on a beautiful spring evening at Diamondback that so many in the local community have come to enjoy.
“It shows a sense of family,” Patrick said when asked why he puts these events on for the Diamondback and Woodland Valley residents, noting that he and his staff try to do things a little differently than most other courses here in the Myrtle Beach area. If that means staying past 6 p.m. to host events, that’s what they happily do.
The concert series that Diamondback hosts throughout the year is open to the public, with Patrick pointing out how they often have just as many people in attendance from the surrounding communities, from near and as far away as the Bridgewater community in North Myrtle Beach, as he has from his own members! Diamondback loves to open its doors to the entire golf community.
The next concert will be taking place this fall at Diamondback. To become a part of the Diamondback family, check out all the membership options here.
