With summer approaching and the days getting longer, it gives us lots more time for golf – 36 holes in one day, even! In that spirit, we decided to ask our General Manager, Patrick Wilkinson, for his choices of golf courses you can pair with Diamondback for a full day on the links.
His first choice came pretty clearly and quickly to him: Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club.
A big reason Patrick chose Shaftesbury was its close proximity to Diamondback. “It’s close, for one,” he said. “You can get there in 20 minutes going the back, 30 if you take the long way.” That short drive makes it easy to get there from Diamondback after your first 18 (Patrick has even offered to show you his “short cuts” if asked!).
“Shaftesbury is just a good golf course,” Patrick added. “It’s a completely different challenge that Diamondback. Here at Diamondback we’re more tree-lined, and over there it is a little more open. Every green at Shaftesbury is raised ever so slightly, where here they are more at eye level. Expansive waste areas, large greens, and deep bunkers are just a few more things you can expect on your second 18 there.
“It gives you two different types of golf courses you can play in one day.”
