Diamondback Golf Club member Steven Francis loves to call Diamondback his home golf course. Francis, a now full-time South Carolina resident, retired from Maryland and joined Diamondback seven years ago.
“(I like) the camaraderie with all my friends, and of course Patrick! We all followed him here,” Steven remarked when asked about what he enjoys so much about his membership at Diamondback.
Steven, who is a 17 handicap and plays most of his golf at Diamondback, said he loves the challenge of Diamondback. “It’s not wide open. If you hit a bad shot, you’re going to pay for it. At other courses you can hit a bad shot and get away with it,” he said. Steven said that holes number 2, 6, and 17 are the ones at Diamondback that challenge him the most.
One of Steven’s favorite moments at Diamondback was seeing an actual diamondback snake on the golf course. He still has picture of it on his phone.
Not only does Steven love the golf course itself, but the staff for him is what makes Diamondback Golf Club such an enjoyable experience. “They’re bar none. They treat you right, and take care of you,” he said. “That’s why I joined Diamondback!”
